About

Michaela Elizabeth Hutchins
Fr. 00 The photographer, pretending she’s comfortable on this side of the lens.

Twenty minutes to take it. Six hours to decide it’s ‘meh’.

Based in Buckinghamshire, I'm a photographer who's perpetually confused about my own developing style. Nothing makes me happier than grabbing a camera, putting on my walking boots and packing a flask of coffee in search of something worth capturing. A moment that happened and might not happen again.

Scotland's moody coastlines captivate me, but locally, I look for what's around me as that's special and shouldn't be taken for granted. My photos aren't masterpieces. Far from it, they're genuine explorations, and the editing process is never truly finished. But through the technical challenges, countless hours in DXO Photolab, and the occasional thoughtful moment of doubt about composition, the work finds its voice, one frame at a time, documenting authentic moments and environmental character.

A few honest facts

  1. Has spent more hours in DXO PhotoLab than is strictly healthy. The edit is never finished.

  2. Favourite colour: green. You may have noticed.

  3. Has apologised to at least one sheep for blocking its path.

  4. Thinks every photo is ‘rather meh’ until someone else says otherwise.

So, why Rather.MEH?

MEH are my initials. “Rather meh” is also how I describe almost every photo I take before anyone else sees it. It’s very British, and probably a coping mechanism. I’d love you to be the judge.
